Collaborative Commitment to CPD

21st September 2017

For accountants to retain membership of key professional bodies, they must keep their technical knowledge up to date through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – making an annual declaration of the maintenance and development of their skills.

And in doing so, they are much better placed to win and retain business, as well as maintaining trust, confidence and relationships with their clients.

In order to support these ongoing CPD requirements, Lifecycle – the network for accountants, provided by the Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG) – has recently released its latest 12-month nationwide CPD seminar programme.

Specialists from the LCBSG team will be joined by a number of expert external trainers to provide member accountants with the very latest information at tax and accounting update sessions in autumn and spring respectively, as well as sessions on practical insolvency that cover the restructuring options and legal issues to consider.

Each CPD seminar will be undertaken at a number of venues across the UK – as both breakfast and afternoon sessions – and will qualify for 1.5 hours of CPD.

Lifecycle provides the often specialist, non-core services that clients require from time to time, whatever the stage of their company’s life. This partnership together with a collaborative approach to client service and solutions also helps accountants secure and develop business, whilst enhancing their capabilities, client trust, confidence and crucially the financial performance within their own practice.

Lifecycle’s Daniel Booth said: “Our CPD programme offers many benefits to our member accountants in terms of enhancing client service and satisfaction, career progression and practice performance.”

“The introduction of HMRC’s proposals last year, which penalise accountants and tax advisers for enabling tax avoidance, is a case in point. With the prospect of facing hefty fines of up to 100% of the underpaid tax, not being aware of professional changes and innovations could be as disastrous for accountants as it is for the clients they advise.”

“By keeping abreast of any legislative changes and key topics with our expert trainers, our member accountants will be well equipped to grow their clients’ businesses as well as their own.”
