10th January 2019
The latest in Lifecycle’s CPD seminar programme for accountants will take place across the UK in March – examining the latest legislation on legacy tax avoidance schemes and what it means for their clients.
In recent years, HMRC have been given ever more powerful tools to pursue users of tax avoidance schemes. APNs and Follower Notices have been successfully used to collect significant sums and further changes are coming with the new Loan Charge legislation due to be introduced on 5th April 2019.
Practical and informative – as well as free of charge for Lifecycle members – the sessions will be delivered by tax expert and guest speaker, Chris O’Hara, along with insolvency and legal specialists from Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group – providers of the Lifecycle accountancy network – who will give a general update on HMRC activity, policy and legislative changes to tackle historic tax avoidance schemes.
The sessions will also consider the settlement, restructuring and legal options available to clients – whether that’s individuals or companies – who have used such schemes to mitigate tax.
The 13 sessions will be undertaken as a combination of breakfast and afternoon events, spanning Glasgow to Southampton. Each will qualify for 1.5 hours CPD.
